Reluctantly I went to her church a few times just for peace and because she loved me. It was there that I eventually had my personal encounter with the living Jesus in one of the services called “72hours” retreat. Which by the way I went with her just to know how in a London church people can be together and not fight.

During the night of 17th April 1987 at an Easter Retreat I encountered my Living Jesus who told me to “Go out and testify about Me. Anyone who lives in Me, darkness cannot prevail over them.” From that day the love of the Father through His Son my Savior and Lord was released in my heart by the Holy Ghost. In August 1989 I was to return finally to Nigeria to join my husband who had already completed his Banking and returned to Lagos, when I had another major encounter with Jesus. This time He told me my assignment is not in Nigeria but to remain in UK for Revival that will come to the Land. He told me I am one of His sent ones to the nation. Now please hear me, He did not tell me am going to be a Pastor or a CEO of a Charity Shop on a high street in London. But He told me not to return to Nigeria as planned. That was my Calling. To be one of the chosen ones for His purpose in UK. He also told me my husband will return to UK.

These all happened.

Despite several encounters with the Lord through the Holy Ghost, a time came on the 4th of February 1992 that I began to lead a fellowship in our house under the covering of my local church. The fellowship began with myself the leader, my husband and my two children. The fellowship grew till another encounter one day when I heard the Lord say “You will Start the church and call the name House on The Rock” This happened on the 13th August 1994.

This is the summary so far of what I can share to bless my sisters who have the same background.

# What were the first challenges you experienced?

Coming from “men only” leadership church background as a new believer in Jesus, I was nearly discouraged if not for the Lord who strengthened me, and for His word that encouraged me. At a point some even told me that they will see how far my passion for the lost and desire to see that believers grow in the knowledge of Jesus personally will go because “after all she’s a woman”.

The next huddle was to be delivered from denominational demons. The demons that limit men from reaching their potentials in Christ because of “the way it was is the way it will be” oh so terrible! Being a Sunday School teacher in my denomination, I influenced my adult students to be Bereans to search if what they were taught and what was practiced were the same. If not then they should choose who to believe and that set me up for several problems. Oh please note that my denomination at the time was well set up but later tradition and culture took over.
