May God help marriages. Too many forces are fighting this great institution and couples end up fighting each other not knowing they are a team and must unite and not let external issues or family come in. My husband reminded me of this just a few days ago because we nearly argued over a financial issue concerning an external party. While he was at work, I received a not-so-funny message about money concerning my husband, me, and the other parties.
I was mad that he did not tell me before, and that nearly messed up our evening. He put out that fire by immediately explaining the situation and reminding me that I am his wife and he can never make any financial decision that will affect our family without first discussing it with me. In reality, it turned out that I already knew about the situation but not about the conclusion – he had told me part of it and stress at work and all made him forget to communicate the rest…and the message made it look like there was another situation and new matter that I didn’t know about . So we quickly made peace then we called the involved persons and ended the matter together and proceeded to having a beautiful evening, eating and watching a good movie together. Imagine that instead of enjoying our evening we would have allowed a small text message from an outside party to divide us. The Bible calls these things “little foxes that destroy the vine”. The enemy is crafty. Remember you have a flame that must not go out. Don’t fight each other. Don’t fight others either. It is bigger and deeper than you think. The enemy simply wants that flame out. SO UNITE. PROTECT IT WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH AND PREVAIL. SO HELP US, GOD
