My husband finally joined me 2 years after in 2012 and together as a team and with God we became a formidable force raising a child with special needs and laying the foundation for our older daughter to be a caring human being and completely understand her sister’s condition and look out for her at all times even at that young age.

Now here is the greatest part of my testimony. KK is 11 years now and doesn’t look like what she has been through. She is in the same class with her mates and doesn’t get any special education. She lives a normal life and is self-dependent. She doesn’t have a trach anymore, doesn’t have a g button anymore, doesn’t get occupational therapy and physical therapy anymore and sees her cardiologist for follow-ups every 6 months. She hasn’t had any heart surgery since 2016 and gets a few hours of speech therapy per week. She is a strong, caring and wonderful person and she gives the best hugs. She fully understands her medical limitations and doesn’t let them bother her. She still has a few medical issues stemming from her tough congenital conditions but she’s taking it like a champ and we love her dearly.
I’m sharing this story to tell everyone out there that no matter what you’re dealing with, no matter how bleak any situation is, God is still in the business of turning a mess into a message, He can still change the trajectory of our lives and make our story beautiful. We just have to believe, be still and keep the faith. God never gives us a load too heavy for us to carry. Instead of lamenting to God about KK’s conditions, we believed that He found us worthy of a miracle and KK is that miracle. I hope this story touches someone out there. Always remember that God’s got you.
May God bless us all.

Thanks for sharing Taka, your family has been through a lot and the greatest and most awe-inspiring is your reliance and faith in God through it all.
