And then the movie *WAR ROOM* was a strong motivation to my husband. Some of the points we gathered which helped me overcome my fears were:
1. FAITH IN GOD THAT HE WHO BROUGHT US TOGETHER HAS A REASON. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Faith that our marriage can work, faith that I can be a submissive wife. Faith in God who called our marriage to make it work. agree with Christ and what His Word says. I felt my sacredness was taken from me as a child so I could not even be intimate with my husband, nothing he did seemed to please me. I wanted to move towards him sexually yet he irritated me but then I had to come to realize that our coming together was for a purpose so I had to learn to have faith in God’s Word (you were sacred in my eyes even as a stripper that’s why I loved you) and I tried to cast down imaginations when they came against my marriage.
2. PRAYER TOGETHER AS A COUPLE. Fast and pray. Worship together.
3. CONSISTENCY in this prayer life as a couple. Fight to keep it going. Once you start do not stop. Fast together, pray together, war together, listen to worship together. These were the things we learned to do regularly as a couple, and it helped us.
4. COMMUNICATE: Don’t close the door to one another. Speak and let your partner know how you feel no matter how bad and dirty it is. I learned to tell him how I felt, what I wanted to do even when I knew they were bad but then he helped me fix my thoughts through the word of God.
5. BE FRIENDS TO GOD AND FRIENDS TO ONE ANOTHER. Go on dates. Don’t hesitate to have mentors and go on counseling sessions together. 6. THINK OF JESUS AND WHAT HE WOULD HAVE DONE: Jesus endured to do the will of the father. Jesus did not quit when it was hard; he went through the worse. He endured violence, curses, spitting and all, and yet he loved us and still does.
