…..But just last year, that one man that said my life was finished,.. died! A former colleague of course…a man in his forties. I cried! I did not so much cry because of his death, I cried because I wanted my gainsayers to be alive to see the beauty that my God is making out of me. Although most of them were all trying to contact me even before I left Nigeria including the late colleague. When they saw I was still wearing a large smile, shinning 1000watts more with my children, most aligned and wanted a comeback. But then wisdom is profitable to direct!
Back to my story….
Finally, they could not handle any one of his businesses. A pharmacy, they carted away almost everything in it and left me with a debt of 3.5 million naira. And also, they couldn’t keep up with the rent as it was on rented property and very expensive for them. I picked up that pharmacy with the help of God and turned that business within the space of 2years into a business that yielded profits in 6-7 figures. Nay in all these things WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS THROUGH HIM THAT LOVED US. (Romans 8:37)
Talking about these ne’er-do-wells…how would you explain that an almost brand-new Lexus was bought for this ne’er-do-well brother the same year I married my husband and ne’er-do-well brother sold it together with the business that was opened for him and became wrecked again in less than a year.
…another scenario, Mr ‘good man’ gave ne’er-do-well brother some serious money to start an electronic business with a visa to China, ne’er-do-well met money doublers out of greed and gave them ALL of the money and ‘fiam..’ the money was gone. Mr ‘good man’ was super angry with his ne’er-do-well brother, still, that did not stop his kind heart. Bought 2nd, 3rd, and even a 4th car for ne’er-do-well brother but ne’er-do-well sold them as soon as they were bought and of course, came back more wretched. This ne’er-do-well brother is my late husband’s elder brother and only brother. My late husband was the baby of the house but decided to shoulder a community bigger than him.
…Another ne’er-do-well relative…Mr ‘good man’ gave this relative money to go and start a business, ne’er-do-well relative decided to live a life of a prodigal son. Report reaching us then was that he will always close his shop three hours early and will enter the bar and merry himself to stupor and of course with women. Money finished in less than six months! Came back to his brother and he welcomed him back and placed him on salary till his death.
Yet another scenario of ne’er-do-well relative of his. This one he sent him outside the country, four years down the line, ne’er-do-well was still begging Mr ‘good man’ money for food and shelter. Please let me ask…Is his own obodo oyibo (abroad) counterfeit or what?
I was warned not to enter any of his landed properties. Fortunately for me, I found just one of the documents as the other documents disappeared during my mourning period. They planted a lady to come into my house the very day they brought the news of my late husband’s demise. A family friend. She told me she needed to go and pack my late husband’s documents including landed property documents. I was too confused to say anything. Before I knew it, this lady went into our room and started ransacking the whole room. I was in my personal room wailing while she was in my matrimonial room searching for documents in the pretense that she was helping me secure them. And of course, that was how I couldn’t find any document when my eyes cleared. When he was alive, he had taken me to some of those lands, but for some reason, I just could not remember how to find my way there. But as for the one I had, I entered and kept re-entering the property and making plans on what to do with it as the threats were mounting. News reached his ne’er-do-well brother and one evening he called me and gave me a sizzling warning for entering the land again and told me that if I dared him again, I would see. That same week I had a terrible accident with a trailer that wretched my car to pieces and I came out unhurt…Onye ya na Chi ya kwu ihere adįghį eme ya. ONE WITH GOD IS A MAJORITY. FOR HE SHALL GIVE HIS ANGELS CHARGE OVER US, TO KEEP US IN ALL OF OUR WAYS. (Psalms 91:11) And I am sure you will ask me if I went back to that land? Of course, I did! HE THAT IS WITH ME IS FAR GREATER! IF GOD BE FOR US , WHO CAN BE AGAINST US (Romans 8:31)
These and many other terrible things I went through in the hands of some of his relatives. Most of those investments had his ne’er-do-well brother as next of kin because probably they were opened just shortly before I met Mr good man and never occurred to us to change next of kin.
