It's My Story

I KNOW IT HURTS

I know it hurts,
But hang in there
Feel it,
Don’t run just yet
Brace up,
Don’t blank out
Face it,
Don’t deny it
I know that stabbing pain that locks your chest
and leaves a throbbing lump in your throat,
You try to swallow it away, it never goes, but sends a searing ache to your ears,
You wish it gets to your eyes so that you can cry, but no, trauma and shock seal your tears,
You’re numb but yet in pain,
It’s bottled up, and you can’t help it,
You’re screaming inside but you can’t voice it,
When you push yourself, it’s angry, muddled outbursts.
It did happen and it hurts,
You feel vulnerable to admit it,
But you should for your healing,
It’s the first step to winning
Yes, feel it,
It’s doing something to you,
You mutate,
It’s you with rare strength
Stay aware and awake,
Don’t switch off,
Don’t on crack or booze,
There are gems to pick up
Breathe in the pain,
Until you rise above it,
Breathe,
And yes you will.
